Where can I get BOB FM on DAB+?
BOB FM broadcasts nationwide on DAB+ digital radio across the Republic of Ireland. We are carried on the FailteDAB multiplexes, which covers Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, Waterford, and surrounding counties via transmitters at Three Rock, Bray Head, Clermont Carn, Mount Leinster, Spur Hill, Mullaghanish, Woodcock Hill, Wicklow, Truskmore, Cairn Hill, Maghercloone, and Wolftrap Mountain.
Why are there no DJs on BOB FM?
Because BOB is the host. We built BOB FM around the idea that the music — and the mood — matter more than a voice in the background. No DJs, no ads, no interruptions, no playlists written by committee. Just BOB, playing whatever feels right.
How do I advertise on BOB FM?
You don't! We're proudly commercial free and interruption-free. BOB is non-stop 24/7. BOB will never sell-out to corporate commercial greed until he changes his mind. You're safe until someone makes BOB an offer he can't refuse.
Can I listen on a smart speaker?
Yes. Just say 'Alexa, play BOB FM' or ask your Google Assistant to play BOB FM. If your device supports internet radio, you can also tune in through the BOB FM live player at www.bobfm.ie/live.
What kind of music does BOB FM play?
Whatever feels right. BOB FM moves between dance, rock, pop, indie, and everything in between — often in the same hour. Think Dua Lipa into Queen, Fatboy Slim into Aerosmith, New Order into U2. No rigid format, no repeats every ninety minutes.
Do I need a DAB+ radio or can I stream?
Both work. A DAB+ radio gives you the classic dial experience with no data usage, but you can also stream BOB FM free through the live player, smart speakers, or any internet radio app that carries us.
Who operates BOB FM?
BOB FM is officially operated by East Coast Radio Ltd under a branding licence from Broadcast Formats Ltd, Isle of Man, and is licenced by Coimisiún na Meán as a DAB+ digital sound broadcasting service serving Ireland. Despite how things may look, BOB is not a pirate (those days are over and are never talked about). Speaking about BOB, the East Coast Radio boss said "BOB is kinda like a squatter in our building, hiding under the stairs, using our stuff and taking liberties when no one is looking. If and when teabags, coffee and toilet rolls mysteriously go missing, we instantly suspect BOB has been lurking. You've no idea what goes on here. We try to be vigilant but it's very tricky with this BOB character..."
